Our Fantastic Wedding Catering Experience Made In Heaven! -  B.E.D is one of our favourite Plymouth restaurants, so when we discovered the events catering page on the B.E.D website, we excitedly approached Mehdi. After an initial meeting outlining basic arrangements and the style of catering we wanted we all visited our venue – Pentillie Castle. It was an ideal oppourtunity for Mehdi to familiarise himself with the commercial kitchen and strike up a good rapport with the wedding co-ordinator at Pentille.

We decided to go for a 3 course sit down wedding breakfast, followed by a mediterranean buffet for the evening reception. Mehdi also provided Pimms on the lawn and a bar for the evening reception. We created the menu, using the current B.E.D menu where it was tough narrowing down the fantastic array of dishes down to two starters, mains  plus vegetarian and desserts to give our guests a choice. It also meant the chefs were well rehearsed in preparing and cooking those dishes on the actual day.

Mehdi’s flexibility, creativity and effort to meet our requests was impressive. Animal welfare is an important issue to us so we requested our chicken dish to be created using free range chicken. Not a problem- Mehdi locally sourced free range chicken at a very competitive rate and it tasted fantastic!

The five B.E.D waitresses were a delight and worked really hard to provide an excellent service on the day. They adapted perfectly to the logistics of the day, where two of them joined the wedding on a river cruise from Saltash Quay up to Pentille Castle, serving prosecco and cupcakes. They quickly adapted to the unfamiliar surroundings of the venue executing the wedding breakfast service in a very smooth fashion. The girls carried on tirelessly providing a very excellent bar service in the evening.

The food served on our wedding day was absolutely superb! So many guests commented on how much they had enjoyed their meal and the fact that it had arrived piping hot. All the ingreedients had been locally sourced, presented beautifully and tasted phenomenal. The evening mediterranean style buffet was equally outstanding including the biggest prawns i have ever seen, succulent Carpaccio beef and peppered fish.

We really could not have asked for anything more, Mehdi and his team had risen to the challenge of catering at a prestigeous venue and surpassed all the expectations we had about the catering element of our wedding.
